CCOT Report 2020-2021

This year has been very different for all, including CCOT due to the pandemic and we survived. I would like to reiterate the ethos of our Club for initiating the social arm in CCOT, by having its very own inhouse certified 80G Trust. This pandemic year despite the restrictions, we were in a position to offer succour to the Homes rather differently as many were having basic requirement difficulties. Thanks to the Committee Members for giving time and risking themselves. We were able to bring succour by providing them with rations, masks, soap, tooth paste, hygiene kits, sanitisers, key board and drum set, footwear, sweaters etc., to tide over with their immediate needs. Besides our homes, we also distributed hoodies and some goodies to Jeevarathni Foundation and Vincent Pinto and team donated ration and other essentials to Gerizim Home and Mother Teresa Navachatna Home besides Homes under CCOT. All our activities were possible due to the help and generosity of:
  1. Vincent Pinto and family and his band of generous donors.
  2. Vivek George and his group from Your Design.
  3. Peter Prem and group.
  4. Pramodh Naidu with cash donations and in obtaining a donation of Rs. 1.50Lfrom Stericon Pharma.
  5. Himalaya Wellness through their CEO, Philipe Haydon.
  6. Rex D’Silva and family.
  7. Rachell D’Cunha (Australia), for Girl Hygiene products.
  8. Cricketer Varun Aaron and Ragini for Bedsheet fabric and Carry bags.
  9. Keyboard and Drum set by Ms Sudha Praveen through Carlisle Turner.
  10. Fleece blankets given to St Marys Boys Home, donated by Rotary Club through Nadeem Ahmed of Saleh.
Also, this year, despite the challenges, we in collaboration with Enfold, conducted a Life Skills programme on self-awareness, interpersonal relationships, gender and managing emotions, at Ashadeep Girls Home, which according to the girls and caretakers was positive and helpful. These Life skills programmes by Enfold and Talent Ease help the children to be future ready and make them better adults and hence they are not any quick fix solution but will teach them to make judicious choices in life. A regret by the committee and, sad to say that, due to the Pandemic, our regular programmes of medical camps, Talent Ease life skills and leadership training, Golf tournament and the signature Christmas party Fun Day could not be conducted. I am grateful to all our Sponsors for their generosity, a Big thank you to each one. Here a special mention of Himalaya Wellness represented by our very own, Philipe Haydon who has been a regular donor of numerous Himalaya Wellness products since he became a Member of our Club. May God bless you and your family. Thanks. due also to the Club MC for their support in all our activities. Last but not the least a special Thank you to the ever-helpful Club Staff for all their help in the conduct of all our activities. A big Thank you to the ever enthusiastic, co-operative and ever willing CCOT Committee and their family for giving their assistance and support in pursuit to all our activities. Thanks also to my family for all the support and help in CCOT activities. Well, it’s been four years since heading CCOT and I would like to step down and hang my boots. It’s been a pleasure working with a positive, cooperative and helpful team of Committee and volunteers. All the very best to the future of CCOT.
