Medical Camps
November 2025
Ensuring the health and wellbeing of the children across the homes supported by CCOT remains one of the Trust’s most important priorities. As part of this commitment, CCOT organized a series of medical camps during the 2025–2026 academic year, providing comprehensive health screenings and follow-up treatments for children across multiple homes. These camps were conducted under the leadership of Dr. Bobby Joseph, supported by a dedicated team of doctors and volunteers from CCOT. The initiative focused on preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, and ensuring that children receive the medical attention they require for healthy growth and development. During the camps, children underwent a range of medical examinations including eye screenings, height and weight assessments, ENT evaluations, orthopaedic check-ups, dental examinations, and OBG consultations where required.
RTC:
The first medical camp of the academic season was conducted at RTC, where children received comprehensive health screenings from the medical team. The camp helped identify several health concerns that required further medical attention and follow-up care. Following the camp, medicines prescribed by the doctors were delivered to the home to ensure that the children could begin their treatments promptly. In addition, a specialized follow-up OBG consultation was conducted at the RTC Girls’ Home.
Additional follow-up treatments were also organized for the children in the following weeks. Eye examinations were conducted and spectacles were provided to children who required vision correction, while dental consultations and ENT treatments were arranged for those identified with related concerns. ENT treatments for some students were carried out at St. John’s Medical College Hospital.
St. Mary’s Boys Home:
A second medical camp was later conducted at St. Mary’s Boys Home, again led by Dr. Bobby Joseph along with a team of medical professionals and CCOT volunteers. The camp provided another opportunity for the children to receive detailed health screenings and consultations. Based on the findings from the medical examinations, several students were referred for additional dental and ophthalmology treatments. Follow-up eye examinations were conducted in December, during which children requiring corrective vision were provided with spectacles. Dental treatments were also arranged for students who needed further care.Combined Medical Camp in Catholic Club:
(For St. Patrick’s Boys Home, Good Shepherd, and Chaitanya) A third medical camp was organized at the Catholic Club, covering children from St. Patrick’s Boys Home, Good Shepherd, and Chaitanya. The medical team conducted detailed screenings and consultations to assess the children’s health and identify any medical issues requiring attention. Following the camp, medicines prescribed by the doctors were distributed to the respective homes to ensure continuity of care. In addition, a combined ophthalmology follow-up session was later organized for children from the three homes, during which eye examinations were conducted and spectacles were provided to those who required them in Lenskart.
