CCOT Golf Tournament
22nd August 2025
Every year in August, we host our much-anticipated Charity Golf Tournament, an event where hundreds of distinguished guests and sporting enthusiasts gather to compete not only for the love of the game, but also for an extraordinary cause: improving the lives of the children in our homes. Beyond the competition, the tournament has become a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the countless moments of connection it inspires. All the contributions received from our generous sponsors and players are channeled directly toward the betterment of children, ensuring that every swing and every effort makes a meaningful difference.
This year’s event featured two sessions — a Morning Session and an Afternoon Session. The day began bright and early at 5:30 a.m., with players collecting their scorecards and complimentary t-shirts before enjoying a refreshing round of tea, coffee, and biscuits. Following an encouraging introductory speech by Mr. Jude Lobo, the morning match commenced with great energy and competitive spirit. By 9:00 a.m., a hearty and scrumptious breakfast was served to both players and their caddies, fueling them for the remainder of the session. After a fulfilling meal, participants returned to the greens to continue their game. Upon completion, they submitted their scorecards and were presented with a thoughtfully curated goodie bag, along with a caddy bag as a token of appreciation for their caddies.
The Afternoon Session followed soon after, mirroring the enthusiasm and organization of the morning. A fresh batch of players gathered to receive their scorecards, t-shirts, and welcoming remarks before heading onto the lush fairways. At around 1:00 p.m., both players and caddies were treated to a well-prepared lunch, accompanied by snacks to keep the spirits high. Just like in the morning, the match concluded with players submitting their scorecards and receiving their goodie bags. Jude Rajesh Ferrao, C.J Anthuraj, MIC members- Sam Texeria and Michael Jude Saldana, Jude Lobo, Peter Prem, Austin Roach, Vincent Pinto, Venkat Bashyam, Sanjay Dsouza, Pritvish Dsouza, Clarence Dsouza, Dr. Margaret Lavina, Mable Pinto, Tessa Thomas Ramapuram, Dr. Vinita Thumboochetty, BGC along with the volunteers – Shubha Keerthi R, Preethi Pinto, Sunita Pinto and Amita Prabhu contributed to the successful organization of this event.
After an entire day of spirited competition on the beautiful BGC grounds, the festivities transitioned into an evening of fellowship at the Catholic Club. The dinner reception was a fitting conclusion to the day — guests were greeted with a variety of delicious dishes and live, soulful music that set the tone for celebration. The much-awaited winners’ announcements and prize distribution ceremony followed, honoring the remarkable performances of the day. Cheers, laughter, and applause filled the club as players celebrated their victories and efforts alike.
